“As a former county executive, I understand what it means to keep the lights on and pay the bills. Responsible governance matters. But I could not support a bill that increases healthcare costs for millions of Americans.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today U.S. Representative George Latimer (NY-16) voted against the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that contained several partisan poison pill amendments. Rep. Latimer introduced two amendments to limit the use of the military in New York or around an election, but the Republican Majority did not allow them to receive a vote.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today U.S. Representative George Latimer (NY-16) was joined by local and state officials, servicemembers, and family members and descendants of the Harlem Hellfighters for a wreath laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Solider. The wreath laying was held to honor the Hellfighters, who received the Congressional Gold Medal earlier today in a ceremony at the U.S. Capitol.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today U.S. Representative George Latimer (NY-16) announced that in his first eight months in office, his constituent services team has returned $1,762,000 in federal benefits to residents throughout Westchester and the Bronx.

WHITE PLAINS, NY – Today Congressman George Latimer (NY-16) announced that he is pushing Amtrak for answers after it was reported yesterday that the four new Bronx Metro North stations will not be opened until 2028 at the earliest. The project will extend Metro North access to Penn Station. This is the third time this project has been delayed since breaking ground in 2022.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today U.S. Representative George Latimer (NY-16) sent a letter to Postmaster General David Steiner about the closure of the Bronxville Post Office and reports of unsafe working conditions for employees. The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) closed the Bronxville Post Office on July 17th and have been unable to commit to a re-opening date.
