This project directly supports the federal government’s goals to: Reduce youth incarceration and recidivism by advancing prevention-first strategies that align with national juvenile justice reforms; Promote community-based violence prevention as emphasized by the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP); Improve mental and behavioral health access for youth, as prioritized by HHS and SAMHSA; Address disparities and inequities in the justice system and improve outcomes for marginalized youth populations.
