The City of Yonkers is proposing to replace the Midland Avenue Transmission Water Main as the existing main is obstructed and undersized to meet the city’s current needs. This project includes the installation of 2,707 linear feet of new 12-inch transmission main along Midland Avenue, between Mile Square Road and Yonkers Avenue, benefitting approximately 18,000 Yonkers residents, several healthcare facilities and numerous commercial businesses.
Federal nexus: The project has a federal nexus because the funding provided is consistent with purposes authorized by Section 1452 of the Safe Drinking Water Act, 42 U.S.C. 300j-12.
