The Village of Port Chester is seeking Community Project Funding to complete essential infrastructure and landscaping improvements to their waterfront and downtown district to enhance pedestrian accessibility, improve quality of life, and promote economic development through their Waterfront and LOOP! Initiative. The targeted project site is an approximately 1,600 linear foot activation zone which the Village of Port Chester owns and operates along its waterfront with the Byram River, an area previously devastated by extensive flooding resulting from the impacts of Hurricane Ida and other heavy rainfall events.
Federal nexus: The project has a federal nexus because the funding provided is consistent with purposes authorized in 42 U.S.C. 5305(a)(2).
