The City of Mount Vernon NY requests funding to convert over 1,000 personnel records, civilian complaints, disciplinary, Internal Affairs, and handwritten reports into digitized form so that they will be searchable and position the City to comply with retention, reporting, and law enforcement case-related requests and retention laws. The MVPD Document Conversion Project plays a crucial role in how federal agencies can access MVPD files, records, and related information. When physical records are digitized, it improves efficiency, security, and data-sharing across various government departments.

Federal nexus: The project has a federal nexus because the funding provided is for purposes authorized by section 1701(b)(8) of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 (34 U.S.C. ยง 10381(b)(8)).
