The areas in and around City Park are low-lying and flood as a result of extreme weather, including during Hurricane Ida and September 29th events, among others. The general City Park area collects several drainage networks that converge together and discharge through a single pipe system, out to the adjacent municipality (Larchmont). Through federal funding, this project will prevent future damage to critical infrastructure.
Federal nexus: The funding provided is for purposes authorized by section 203 of the Stafford Act (42 U.S.C. 5133), as amended by Section 1234, National Public Infrastructure Pre-Disaster Hazard Mitigation, of the Disaster Recovery Reform Act (DRRA) of 2018.
