Amount Requested: $1,600,000

The City of New Rochelle is requesting $1,600,000 in Community Project Funding toward a $2,000,000 traffic signal modernization and safety improvement project along Quaker Ridge Road. The project will replace five outdated traffic signals and install upgraded pedestrian, ADA, signage, striping, and vehicle detection infrastructure to improve safety and traffic operations along this major regional corridor. The City of New Rochelle seeks Community Project Funding under the Highway Infrastructure Program to modernize aging traffic signal infrastructure and implement targeted safety improvements along Quaker Ridge Road, a critical east–west arterial connecting North Avenue, Weaver Street, and the Hutchinson River Parkway. 

Federal nexus: The project has a federal nexus because the funding provided is for purposes authorized by 23 USC 133.
