The New York City Department of Parks and Recreation is requesting $5,250,000 to reconstruct the Stars and Stripes Playground in the Bronx. The playground at Stars & Stripes has aging play equipment and safety surface and needs to be reconstructed to provide greater recreational benefits to the local community of Edenwald and the Bronx. It will include new play equipment with enrichment for children of all abilities, new seating, plantings, and other amenities.
Federal nexus: The project has a federal nexus because the funding provided is consistent with purposes authorized in 42 U.S.C. 5305(a)(4).
