119th Congress
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Representative George Latimer (NY-16) joined dozens of House Democrats to introduce the Taxpayer Data Protection Act. This legislation is a direct response to Elon Musk’s shameful invasion of Americans’ privacy. The Taxpayer Data Protection Act will stop people with conflicts of interest or without a security clearance from accessing the highly sensitive Treasury Department payment system–which is responsible for Social Security and Medicare benefits.

Westchester/Bronx– Congressman George Latimer joined 153 House Democrats in sending a letter to the Trump Administration after President Trump issued an executive order on his first day in office that could pause all disbursements of Inflation Reduction Act and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law funding immediately. Neither the vaguely worded executive order nor a follow-up memorandum from Trump's Office of Management and Budget Acting Director Matthew Vaeth and National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett clarify which projects, programs, and activities are frozen.

Washington, DC – Today, U.S. Congressman George Latimer (D-NY) and Congressman Mark Alford (R-MO) , along with Congressman Kweisi Mfume (D-MD), introduced the Transparency and Predictability in Small Business Opportunities Act, a bipartisan initiative to improve transparency and accountability in the bidding process for small and minority/women-owned businesses aiming to provide their products or services to the federal government.

Westchester/Bronx - U.S. Congressman George Latimer has launched an aggressive outreach plan to visit local community governments and their leaders throughout Westchester and Bronx communities.
"For too long, DC representatives were invisible between elections, the local officials in the cities, towns, villages, and community boards of this area. This is a new day of connectivity and cooperation," Latimer said.

George Latimer (he/him/his), a third generation Westchester native, was born on Nov.
