WASHINGTON, DC – Today U.S. Representative George Latimer (NY-16) announced that Joseph Piergiovanni of Eastchester has been selected as the winner of the NY-16 Congressional Art Competition. Mr. Piergiovanni’s artwork, entitled “Poisoned by Progress” will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for the next year.

WHITE PLAINS, NY – U.S. Representative George Latimer (NY-16) was joined by Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins, State Senator Shelley Mayer, State Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins, and local veterans’ advocates for a press conference next to the White Plains Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) clinic today. The group was bringing attention to President Trump’s proposal to cut 83,000 VA staff by August. More than 2,000 VA staff have already been fired.

BRONX, NY – U.S. Representative George Latimer (NY-16) recently visited the James J. Peters Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center in the Bronx. In the first few months of the Trump Administration, President Trump and his cabinet have proposed significant cuts to VA staff and healthcare for veterans. Rep. Latimer visited the Medical Center to speak with staff and veterans to hear how he can best advocate for them in Congress.
